Lesley Elchuck, BA, BEd
Lesley Higgins-Elchuck BA B.Ed has been a professional educator for 29 years. In her career she has taught many of the humanities with her specialty being English. Mainly a high school teacher, Lesley spent much of her career working with her students and in the latter years worked as a teacher technology mentor.
In 1993, Lesley was a lead member of the first major technology integration initiative in the 10,000 student school board in which she was a classroom teacher and a teacher-librarian. Lesley graduated from the University College of Cape Breton's Diploma in Information Technology program.

Toward the end of her career, Lesley worked as an instructional designer and teacher in a hybrid online learning environment. Ms. Higgins-Elchuck has presented at conferences and workshops in both the United States and Canada. She spent time as an Apple Trainer and has instructed courses as part of a Diploma in Information Technology.
Adding to Lesley’s professional career, she has a great love and respect for horses. Horses have been personal friends and lived under her care since she was 12 years old. Lesley has always owned a horse and taken many clinics and had varied showing experiences during her lifetime. Presently she teaches riding at Sumac Farms and owns two Quarter horses. She is presently working on a coaching accreditation from the Nova Scotia Equestrian Federation. Lesley also is certified with the Equine Experiential Education Association (E3A) as a practitioner in Equine Experiential Education and an accredited Insights Discovery Practitioner.
It is Lesley’s teaching experiences and her love and respect for the horse that has brought Lesley to this new Endeavour. She believes that a horse can teach humans many things, as it has for herself. This is why she believes that a horse can make you a more effective leader.
